The Story: The first-ever Bloggers Buffet at Carol's Texan 5

Not rain nor high water could dampen the spirits nor break the resolve of the awesome food bloggers and friends who showed up for the first-ever Bloggers Buffet at Carol's Texan 5 last June 23, 2011. The Bloggers Buffet is about the celebration of abundance - and we had that, not just of food, but also of rain (from typhoon Falcon) and goodwill from the 27 bloggers who made it to the event.

Before the program started, our blogger friends had their fun taking turns for pictures at the newly-installed Carol's Texan 5 Most WANTED Photo Wall. Here the guests could wear characteristic Texan get-ups (cowboy hat, vest, gun and all) and strike their fiercest poses with the Wanted sign hanging over their heads. It's all in the spirit of reliving the Wild Wild West.

Next the bloggers posed for photo balloons with Photo Republik, one of the sponsors, where after one gets their picture taken, it is promptly printed on one side of a balloon shaped like a star. Our blogger friends surely enjoyed that one.





Because food was going to be served buffet-style, Carol's Texan 5 prepared a food presentation of their signature dishes on the counter, so that bloggers can take photos of the dishes when served a la carte. The dishes displayed were the Ultimate Texan 5 Ribs, Dynamite Wings and Tomato Basil Pasta.

And then the program began, with Bloggers Buffet founder Tristan Mirasol also acting as host. After introducing himself, each of the bloggers were also given a chance to introduce themselves to everyone, esp. as to their blogs (or how many they each have), what they're about and what else they do. It was interesting to learn an extra tidbit or two about each of the bloggers.

After getting to know the bloggers, it was time to get to the know the owner of Carol's Texan 5. It was Ms. Carol Chan herself, and she related hers and Carol's Texan 5's background by way of a Q&A and some trivia games where bloggers got to win ClubTravelNOW!^TM souvenir bags, DesignYourDreams^TM Vision Boards from IAMPilipinas, Inc., and tickets to the CliqManila singles event that was held last June 29.

And then finally - the Bloggers Buffet! The hungry bloggers lined up for the buffet tables where being served were the 3 delicious dishes on display. Bloggers enjoyed the food in-between chats and chuckles made with new blogger friends, and interrupted by second trips to the buffet tables. Thirsts were quenched with the bottomless signature Texan 5 iced tea.

While finishing off the meat from the tasty Ultimate Texan Ribs, the bloggers listened to Maharlika Mirasol (Majar) of Fern-C who talked about his company, and their products, namely the Fern-C Sodium Ascorbate, Fern Coffee, Fern Slim and iFlex. Everyone got Fern Coffee gift packages, and the early birds of course got the best of the lot. Next Ms. Carol Chan talked in behalf of Photo Republik - an opportunity for bloggers to get their services for their own personal and business events. Cherry Kho of CliqManila also promoted their singles event which was slated for June 29.

Thanks to Magnolia, the bloggers were also treated to a tasty ice cream dessert which the guests thoroughly enjoyed. Other sponsors, like San Miguel Corp. provided the free Antonov Vodka, while Coca Cola gave away free bottles of Iced Tea. Cignal Digital TV as well as YOU Hair and Body Salon were event sponsors too.

Also a token of thanks, Ms. Carol Chan presented each of the bloggers with a Texan 5 leather journal which she herself made.

It's all fun and friendships (and great food!) at the first-ever Bloggers Buffet at Carol's Texan 5!

Before heading off home, everyone had a blast with group photos at the Carol's Texan 5 backdrop as well as on the Most WANTED Photo Wall. It was truly an event to remember, made memorable by the friendliness of the bloggers, the lip-smacking goodness of Carol's Texan 5 food, and the positive good energy of the evening that not even a storm could ruin.
